The Ruel Vaz Trophy was donated by Mr. Ruel Vaz, JP, a former Custos of St. Catherine on the 5 August 1949 for competitions among Units of the Jamaica Combined Cadet Force (JCCF). The Trophy was made by the Goldsmith and Silversmiths Company in England.
