OBJECT OF THE JAMAICA COMBINED CADET FORCE

The Cadet Force is a Voluntary Youth Organization, sponsored by the Government, and taking in both Military and Community activities.  Its purpose is to develop among its members the qualities of :-

	Leadership
	Discipline
	Good Citizenship and the spirit of service to  God and Country

 

AIM

To provide adventurous and challenging activities designed to develop powers of leadership and qualities of character valuable alike to the civilian and to the soldiers.

NB: The Military form of training has been chosen because it is considered the most satisfactory method of achieving the desired goals.

CHARTER

The objective of Cadet Training are :-

	To give mental and physical training to youth and so form the character of each as to enable him/her to make a good start in life.
	To fit him/her in the event of a national emergency to take his/her place, if he/she so desired, in the defence of his/her home and country.
	To develop in him/her the principles of patriotism, good citizenship, leadership and to bring out the qualities of self-confidence, self respect and the ability to face and accept responsibility with the power to him/herself and others.
	To instil in him/her the idea of service to his/her fellowmen, his/her school, his/her firm and his/her country.
	To fit him/her to make the Military service  a career if he/she so desires.

THE MOTTO

 The motto "Juncti Serviendo Ducemus" means "To Unite, To Serve, To Lead."           

RELIGION

 The Cadet Force is non-denominational, but it is desirable, in principle, that every Cadet who belongs to a religious community should be a professing member of it.

POLITICS

The Force is a NON POLITICAL organisation.  Political policies will never be introduced.      

SERVICE

 Service in the Force is voluntary, part time, local and unpaid.
